Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professors Richard Larson and Elizabeth Murray created Blended Learning Open Source Science or Math Studies (BLOSSOMS), an interactive video for high school students in math and science. BLOSSOMS was designed for teachers to use as support in the classroom and consists of short video segments for students to watch, and after the segment is over, the teacher pauses it, and takes over with hands-on projects and discussion. Videos have interesting titles like “How do mosquitoes fly in the rain?” and “Measuring distances in the Milky Way,” and are taught by professors from all over the United States, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon and Pakistan to spark enthusiasm.
