The Verizon Foundation has teamed up with the Technology Student Association (TSA) to sponsor the Innovative App Challenge and engage students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects and encourage students to use STEM concepts to solve real life probelms.
The challenge gives teams of students grades 6-12, a chance to develop a mobile app and bring it into the market at the Google Play Store. The winning team will recieve $15,000 for their school, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for each team member, and training and support from the MIT Media Lab to help bring their app to the Google Play Store.
