Teachers Say They Are Unprepared for Common Core

According to Education Week, research has found that nearly 50% of teachers feel unprepared to teach the new Common Core Standards. The study was done by the EPE Research Center. They found that educators are feeling pressured with the new requirements in the Common Core Standards. A major shift in instruction is making it difficult for educators to teach the new standards especially to at-risk students. The study also found that a majority of those surveyed believe there is a lack in Common Core training programs.
