"Science" Joins "Selfie" as 2013 Word of the Year

Although the Oxford University Press declared "selfie" their word of the year, last Tuesday, Merriam-Webster declared "science" their word of the year. Oxford based its finding on the overall average usage of the word but Merriam-Webster based its finding on the number of searches. With recent societal isssues such as enirvnmental regulation and climate change, it seems fitting that searches of "science" increased 176%.
