Noteworthy Afterschool Matters Spring 2014 Articles

The National Institute on Out-of-School Time has released the entire issue of Afterschool Matters for Spring 2014. Two articles are particularly important in the STEM community.

“Cosmic Chemistry: A Proactive Approach to Summer Science for High School Students” discusses how educating students about science in the summertime can enhance participation and engagement during the school year. The article highlights how to accelerate future learning by creating a strong foundation for science concepts through summer learning.


“Effective Practices for Evaluating STEM Out-Of-School Time Programs” outline effective strategies on how to properly evaluate STEM programs in order to continually advance program quality.
