EEI Live! Webinar Sessions - Introducing Natural Resources and Conservation to Your Elementary Students

Date:
Thursday, February 5, 2015 - 4:00pm

Water in the EEI Curriculum

From the basics of the water cycle to the complex issues related to its distribution and important role in agriculture, water is represented throughout the K-12 EEI curriculum. This webinar series is designed for elementary and middle school teachers and will focus on freshwater topics and strategies for teaching students about the importance of water in California. In each webinar our team of environmental education specialists and teacher ambassadors will guide teachers through an EEI unit, demonstrate what teaching through an environmental lens looks like, and highlight how the lesson supports Common Core State Standards. At the end of the presentation, we’ll hold a questions and answer session for interested audience members.

Introducing Natural Resources and Conservation to Your Elementary Students

Join us as we explore the EEI kindergarten science unit “A Day in My Life" and highlight how it supports Common Core State Standards. This unit introduces students to everyday resources, such as water, and the ways in which these resources can be conserved. This webinar is designed for teachers in the lower elementary grades, but the strategies and concepts covered can be applied towards all elementary level students.
