City & School Districts Announce STARS Afterschool Program

The city of Yucaipa and the Yucaipa/Calimesa School District representatives announce the kick-off of the STARS (Science, Technology, Arts, Recreation for Success) After School Program. STARS is a partnership between the Yucaipa Community Services Department, Yucaipa-Calimesa School District, Healthy Yucaipa, local organizations and local families to provide a recreation, educational enrichment based program for students in grades kindergarten through eight.

The STARS After School Program provides a safe, affordable, quality before and after school program, which strives to assist students achieve higher grades, improve school attendance and behavior, with an emphasis on creating lifelong experiences. The STARS After School Program will provide supervised activities, directly after school on school campuses; which will include recreation, physical fitness, health and wellness activities, preforming and fine arts, STEM activities, homework assistance, middle school clubs and intramural middle sports and one yearly fieldtrip to the local Seventh Street pool.
